Are we close to manual control in Canon 5D mark II video?
After briefly flipping through the updated 50D and 5D mkII white paper, I noticed a reference to manual aperture control in the movie mode for the 5D mkII. This quote lies on Page 3 of the white paper:
Based on this success, it’s only natural that advanced users are looking for manual aperture control in movie mode, and Canon is listening to constructive comments and feature suggestions.
Interesting… Could this mean it’s coming in the next firmware update? According to Canonrumors, that firmware is coming during the first week of April, yet we are also supposed to take that with “a grain of salt.”
Regardless, like I mentioned in my last post about firmware updates, it’s nice to hear Canon are at least acknowledging the fact it’s users want this feature. I am also noticing a few threads starting across the photo forums out there are beginning to speculate their most wants. Of course manual aperture control and frame rate are the top candidates.
